For over 50 years, Central Queensland councils have been working together to make a real difference for our region.
Through the CQ Local Government Association (CQLGA), CQ councils come together to provide a strong, united voice for Central Queensland, representing and advocating for the needs of local government and their communities.
CQLGA’s capability and capacity is broadening due to member council confidence and expectations on what the CQLGA can achieve. By working together we harness the skill capabilities and passion that exists within each council for the collective good.
Our organisation has a proven track record of implementing strategic regional projects, ensuring a collaborative approach to initiatives that benefit all CQ Councils.
Through our involvement in regional, state and national groups, as well as our delivery of externally funded regional projects and programs, we are building positive relationships with all levels of government and industry on behalf of our member councils.
Successful coordination of regional tenders and contracts by CQLGA has meant our member councils have been able to deliver services and resources to their communities that could not have been achieved without regional collaboration.
When CQ councils work together, it works.
