Looking for something to do during your art classes?  Would your students like to win some great prizes?  Trying to find an interesting way to spice up your environmental awareness lessons?  If you answered YES to all these, then the Castaway Art competition is perfect for you!

 

The Castaway Art competition, held at events across the entire Central Queensland region urges entrants to turn their trash into treasure as they ‘find it, save it, create it.’  With over $3000 worth of cash and paint prizes to win, Central Queenslanders of all ages invited to take part, especially your very own students.

Entrants of the Castaway Art competition must use ‘found objects’ in their artworks while reflecting the competition’s theme of ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.’

The competition has three age categories, primary, secondary and open, and is split into two distinct classes of art; 3D sculpture and other artworks.

The Castaway Art competition will be held at the following events:

  • Clermont Show 29-30 May, Isaac Regional Council - Closes 27th May
  • Ecofest 3 June, Gladstone Regional Council - Closes 16th May
  • Emerald Show 5-6 June, Central Highlands Regional Council - Closes 2nd June
  • Rockhampton Show 8-10 June, Rockhampton Regional Council - Closes 18th May
