
The ranks of CQ Recycling Heroes have received a major boost with the recent announcement of the community calendar competition winners.
Five year-level winners and ten highly commended entries were selected from schools across Central Queensland, showcasing the talent and recycling knowledge of children throughout the region.
Entrants showed tremendous understanding of the ‘sort it, clean it, crush it’ theme in accepting their mission to create a ‘Super Recycling’ poster.
The calendar competition winners for 2011 are:
Year 3 – Ricky He, Taranganba State School
Year 4 – Mikayla Conway, Bouldercombe State School
Year 5 – Mackenzie Morgan, Baralaba State School
Year 6 – Sarah Eden, Gindie State School
Year 7 – Elizabeth Wright, Lakes Creek State School
Highly commended entrants for 2011 are:
Year 3 – Fraser Sampson, Gindie State School
Ebony- Rose Liddell, Waraburra SS
Year 4 – Joshua Hurst, Tannum Sands State School
Hayden Gillett, Frenchville State School
Year 5 – Isabella Hindman, Rockhampton Girls Grammar

Year 6 – Terryn Vanderpool, Denison State School

The calendar is produced on 100% recycled paper, using soy-based inks from an environmental certified printing facility. The calendar promotes recycling and is a great guide to CQ community events throughout the year.
