A visit to the CQ Materials Recovery Facility (CQMRF) always gives students a fun and engaging way to learn about recycling and how to be EarthSmart. Through the formation of a key strategic partnership with the Fitzroy Basin Association (FBA), CQLGA is now bringing even more value to Central Queensland schools.
Recently, FBA opened their FLOW interactive centre. The centre is a fun and exciting public space with something for all ages to enjoy that will educate visitors about the Fitzroy River system and its tributaries.
After collaboration between CQLGA and FBA, both organisations are offering to bring extra value to schools making the trip into Rockhampton, by coordinating combined visits. This allows for schools to separate into two groups, with one group visiting each site, before swapping to the other.
By visiting both the FLOW centre and the CQMRF in one visit, students are able to increase their environmental awareness, while schools reduce the costs that would have been associated with two trips. A travel subsidy of up to $200 is on offer for the first schools to register for a CQMRF visit, so get in fast and slash your costs even further.
