Get inspired and get involved: create something unique for CQLGA's Castaway Art Competition!

The competition challenges local artists to create an artistic masterpiece using materials destined for disposal. Both functional recycled items and purely decorative recycled pieces are welcome, and the competition is open to all ages.

The CQLGA Castaway Art Competition has a long history and through its success in previous years, the 2012 Castaway Art Competition branched out into more events across Central Queensland. The competition is well regarded for its strong focus on sustainability and incorporation of the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” theme. As the competition spread into more rural communities in 2012, CQLGA offered over $3000 worth of cash and paint prizes!

This year, the competition will again be held as part of regional events and agricultural shows:

Clermont Show           27-29 May  (entries close May 26th)
Gladstone EcoFest    2 June  (entries close May 31st)
Emerald Show            4-5 June  (entries close June 1st)
Rockhampton Show  7-9 June (entries close May 10th)

Make sure you get your entry form in to the show society by the due date. Get your entry forms here.

Great rewards are on offer, including high-quality artist paints from Derivan and cash prizes.
